Overall Design
The overall design of the logo is in the shape of an apple.  This image serves as a distinctive about us, that we moved to this location which was, at the time, an apple orchard.  But the apple also speaks to something greater.  An apple is, without trying to be patronizing, a fruit.  There is only one apple in this logo, because there is only one Fruit of the Spirit.  In Galatians 5:22, Paul says the the fruit of the Spirit is, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”  These make up the fruit of the Spirit, they are not separate fruits, where you may receive some of them and not others.  So just as the Spirit’s fruit is one, so there is one apple.

Individual Pieces
However, the apple is comprised of several individual pieces, of varying shapes and colors, that all come together to give the apple its complete shape.  This reminds us of the diversity of the Body of Christ.  We are all different; we look different, sound different, come from different backgrounds and economic stations.  We are also given different gifts and are called to different roles in the Body.  This is what it means to be united.  It is in our diversity that we can come together to make whole the picture of the Kingdom.  Just as the pieces of the logo are different and unique, we also each have our own uniqueness; and like the individual pieces, when we are put together we create a whole image.

Roads and Rows
The three stripes on the apple represent two distinct ideas.  First, they represent the diverse journeys we have all traveled to this point.  They are as unique as we are, yet they all are headed to the same destination.  Our journeys have brought us to Christ, to become part of his royal family, to become a part of his Body.  We all are on a journey, and our roads have led us to Jesus.  

Second, they also represent the rows of apple trees from the orchard.  The orchard is where the fruit is nurtured and cultivated.  An orchard only contains one type of fruit.  In our orchard we are nurtured and cultivated to bear the fruit of the Spirit.  And orchards don’t grow their food for only one household.  Their fruit is sent out to feed the hungry.  Orchards send out their fruit to have an impact on the larger community and the world.  Likewise, we are grown, nurtured and cultivated so that we may also be sent to feed a hungry world.
